Miss Mouse was wearing a winter hat and scarf. She was hot.
Miss Mouse: was hiding behind snowmen. Can you guess which one she was behind?
fingerplay: Clap, Clap Your Lap.
Book 1:Pip and Squeak by Ian Schoenherr
Fingerplay: Roll Roll Sugar Babies
Song: Freeze by Greg and Steve
Song with Flannel: All Dressed Up by Ernie(and Sesame street) This is fun, towards the end the music goes so fast that it gets all messed up.
Another Song: I saw this on the Flannel Friday Facebook page: Boots and parka, scarf and hat, In wintertime we dress like that, Boots and parka, scarf and hat. I pointed to each item as we sang the song. The next verse we Hmmm, and parka, scarf and hat, scarf and hat. etc till we were hmmmming the whole song and poor Bert was just wearing mittens and ear muffs.
Flannel 2: Make a Snowman. We have many “make-a” flannels in our library. It’s a time stretch. It great with audience participation. Here is one snowman:
Book: Sneezy the Snowman by Maureen Wright. This is a fun book. It’s wordy, but would make a great flannel. The illustrations are great, though. Be a shame to waste them….So I modified the text while I was reading it.
Book: If You’re Happy and You Know It by David Carter. This is the last Monday storytime of the year, so I ended storytime with a song!
